So my XJ came with the basic instrument cluster, a speedometer and a fuel gauge. I went to a junk yard and pulled another instrument cluster from the same year of cherokee. Its got a tach, oil pressure, fuel, battery, and temp gauge. Out of curiosity I revved the engine up to its limiter to see if the tach was working. I noticed that the motor's limiter was reached at 6,000 rpm according to the tach. However the tach's redline starts at 5,000. Also I noticed there are 2 dials soldered to the circuit board of the tachometer, I think they've got something to do with adjusting the tach but I'm not sure. If they are, what position should the be in? The one on the left is pointing upwards where as the one on the right is horizontal. What's the redline on other cherokee's? I've got the inline 6 if that helps.
