93 motor in 2000 XJ
Hello all,
I'm currently rebuilding a motor from a 1993 XJ with plans of putting it into a 2000 model. The 1993 has a distributor, but the newer models have coil packs; how exactly does one transition to that system? Because I've noticed the newer head castings have bosses between the spark plug holes, un like my #7120 head.
Anything else I should consider from those who have done similar swaps?
All input is appreciated.
Thanks!

You can make some brackets to hold the coil rail. I have also seen people remotely mount a Dodge truck coil from a V10 and use spark plug wires.

Look at the build thread in my signature, I'm running a 1996 4.0L in my 2000 XJ. I took some pics of the coil pack brackets I made and how to swap the old distributor for the cam position sensor/synchronizer from your original engine.
