Default 91 Larado windows fogging up - need help!

My girlfriend has a 91 Jeep Cherokee Larado that keeps fogging up the windows after it is warmed up. Turning on the defrost and vents actually makes it worse and then starts to smell like antifreeze sometimes. I've checked the heater core and there are no leaks coming from it. Any body have any ideas of what's going on? I've checked everything I can think of.

If you're smelling antifreeze and seeing fogging through the defrost vents, you do have a heater core leak. Maybe very slight or on top but, you do have a leak.

I've noticed a sweet smell while driving, but just bought it from an older lady and cant tell if its her perfume or something ???

If the heater core is bad and starts to leak is it pretty obvious? I notice a little condensation on my windshield above the vents, but if I turn on the defrost its gone instantly.

I was looking for a fresh water leak before and had the blower motor out and had a mirror in the heater box and never noticed any wetness on the heater core.

Any thoughts on this? Is it all in my head?

Sounds like air freshener or cleaning product from PO... The heater core would definitely fog the windshield... other than that, there is usually a drain for condensation from the evaporator (A/C) to allow the water to drain to the outside... Usually is located in the firewall and all that you can see is a rubber elbow that appears to have no function. Dirt and other junk could have it stopped up and make the pan hold water. The passenger side floor was getting wet in mine at one point from not draining.

My friends TJ leaks coolant from the radiator and it smells like syrup. haha no kidding. that could be your sweet smell. Old ladies usually smell like mothballs and depends to me.

I thought the leak was coming from there as my prior XJ had the same issue. Nope, not on this one. Its the gasket that seperates the heater box from the firewall, somehow it was leaking thru that in a few different places. A lot if silicone later and its slowed considerable if not all together.

Good times!
