Default 90 XJ Vacuum Reservoir

Does anyone have a source for a new vacuum reservoir for a 90 XJ?

Crown sells one but only for 91-96 XJs (can this be made to work with the 90 XJ?)

Just cap off the tube and call it a day.

Are you saying to eliminate the reservoir?

I don’t have mine anymore and I don’t notice any issues.

Is yours the round one or the long one?

The vacuum reservoir operates the HVAC doors and the Cruise Control (if equipped).

New? I don't think so.

The Renix ones have 2 ports on each end. Looks like Crown has only one on each end. I believe they can be made to work by altering the vacuum lines. However, you should be able to find replacements on eBay. I found my spare in a local salvage yard.

I replaced my original renix unit with the single port Crown unit. Heater door and AC work fine. Just had to adapt /connect the fittings on the tank.
I used vacumn lines from a 95 Xj 4.0 from the intake manifold with the one way check . I just sold the XJ or else I'd send you a photo..
Works 🙂

I think use of tee fittings for the vacuum hoses will solve the issue of using the later reservoir on an early jeep. Just tee the two hoses together
