Default Theory on this vacuum egg

So, I understand it's purpose, and was wondering... Since you always think that more is better, would it be feasible to replace it with one of those vacuum reserve canisters that are used on hot rods with cams that don't make enough vacuum at idle for power brakes and accessories? Just an idea, and it would look alot better than that ugly egg thing if I move it to my engine compartment.

What's everyone think?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. But any vacuum reservoir will do the job.
