Default 89 xj not getting fire

Ok so I have an 89 xj renix and I put a used engine in from a newer model and I'm not getting fire to the coil. I've replace the cps, the knock sensor, new fuel pump and relay. It will turn over but has no spark. I'm new to the whole jeep thing and I really need some help. I've been trying to figure this out for 2 weeks with no luck.

What was wrong with the old motor to make you swap it out and did it run before the swap? Did you use the same sensors as before? Everything hooked up right with no extra parts?

It had a blown head gasket, 2 cracked cylinder walls, and a couple of broken rocker arm bolts. So I bought an engine from a newer xj and used my wiring and my intake and my sensors along with some new ones I replaced. The engine I pulled the guy told me it ran when he wrecked the jeep so I don't think that is the problem. I was doing some new research on what could cause no fire tonight and I think I might have it narrowed to a bad ground somewhere. So tomorrow I'm gonna go thru and check all of the ground hookups and I will post back tomorrow if I'm still getting no fire

That's was the next think i was going to ask about your grounds. If i remember right you have the firewall to cylinder head then, dipstick grounds, then over all body ground.

Yes and from my research earlier it said to remove the dip stick tube grounds and stud and sand down to bare metal so I'm gonna do that and the same with the ground strap from the firewall to the head. Then I'm gonna look for any other grounds and do the same for them

And I really appreciate all the help yall gave me. All I did was take the dust shield off the bottom of the bell housing and feel in there with my finger and the holes were way far apart so for that knowledge from yall Thank you. I will post some pics once I get her all buttoned up and running. Then after that it will be time to put my 4.5 inch long arm kit on
