Default 89 Renix electrical fuse box.

Call it the ADHD in me. I can replace shocks, pull a transmission, replace an axle, but electrical stuff fogs my brain over. For some odd reason today *The Jeep gods are always telling me to do something on the Jeep* I decided to take a look at my fuse box, and well this is the mess that I found. *btw, my jeep has an AX-15, why is there a fuse in the tranny control area?*

Notice the cracked fuses? Yeah, those are getting replaced lol. But tell me about the ones that look like they're missing. For instance, my clock works. But I don't have a fuse in the clock spot? What about the headlight delay?

This is what it looks like. I'm not only ADHD, but I'm also OCD and this bugs the living crud out of me. Did the PO do some backyard work?

Also, what the heck is that?

not all jeeps come with all feature thats why not all fuse will be used ,the black box is for wiper delay, the socket hanging is for a small bulb that lights up the floor board when interior lights on as for the tape gotta look under it

The trans fuse is in there so the reverse lights will work.

The reverse light makes since. While putting in my new 25, 20, 10, and 7.5 I noticed that the previous owner has a 25a in the radio which takes a 15a, and a 30a in the dome light that takes a 10a. I also plugged in a fuse where it says clock as well *again, it didn't have one yet it had leads in the place. The clock worked as well.* I've noticed with the electrical, my blinkers will blink slower the higher I have the blower motor running at.

The blinkers being slower with higher fan speed are indicative of poor chassis grounds and/or poor battery connections. Clean your battery terminals and add a ground wire from your negative battery post to teh radiator support. Clean the paint off before attaching. Also remove the braided strap from the firewall and scrape the paint of before reattaching securely.

I'm just going to replace the ground from the driver side rear of the engine to the firewall. Get rid of that braided style of wiring. The battery cabled have new cable ends and I did the ground from the negative to the radiator support.

If you're gonna do that, just run the cable to the rearmost bolt attaching the injector rail to the intake manifold. Just as effective and less hassle.

my clock runs off my dome fuse. i think the clock fuse is for the memory?? not sure.. the last owner probably had one blow and figured he didnt need a clock at the time being\, so he threw the clock fuse in. i also have put bigger fuses in my radio and dome spots because i have an aftermarket stereo in mine and would blow when it was turned on and i used the power windows.. when my dome goes out it shuts the whole dashboard off (windows, radio, clock) kind of a cluster.
