89 Jeep Cherokee base model vs Lareto AC system
I have a base model 89 Jeep Cherokee, and I needed a center console. So I went to my local junkyard and picked up one from a larado. I noticed that this model had AC duct that ran thru the center console to the back seats. Is there anyway to modify my base model to make this work, or do I have to go back and gut that larados ac systme and install in my Jeep?

That's the only difference.

If you really want that, just cut the appropriate hole. It is not rocket science with how it attaches. It kind of just buts up against the HVAC housing

My ac system is R134, and here in Arizona we have 120+ temps going on. AC is not doing anything. Is there anyway I can get my AC upgraded so it's at least blowing a little cold air.

My first question to you is to clarify "... not doing anything." What IS it doing, and what ISN'T it doing? What I mean is, that is very vague if you're asking for some help.

What I mean is because it's 120 degree here the AC is on full blast and is not cooling the Jeep down at all. Doesn't even feel like it's blowing cold air out of the vents. Just want to know if there is a way to improve the AC in the Jeep Cherokee. In future we may want to start pulling a small trailer and go on road trips. So a good ac will be a good thing.

Your system is not working properly. There are no upgrades. Have it checked out.

Ok, so the blower motor works, the dash control does, in fact, make air come out the vents when vent is selected and the ducting isn't clogged. Now:
- Is the hot/cold blend door stuck?
- Is the compressor clutch working and cycling on and off when the a/c is on?
- Is the system charged with the right amount of freon?
- Have you checked your high and low side pressures?
- Is your electric fan coming on with the compressor?
- Is your fan clutch working correctly?
- Is your expansion valve working, clogged, etc.?
- Is your receiver/dryer clogged, or do you have contaminants or moisture in your system?
- Is your condenser clogged with bugs and the fins all bent up blocking air flow?
- Did a critter make a nest up against the evaporator?
