Default 89 Cherokee No start

I have a 89 Cherokee 4.0 manual tranny. The motor will crank but it will not start. I have had the starter, alternator, coil, igition control module, and battery tested and they test good. I have replaced the crank sensor and I have replaced the battery cables. I cleaned the ground real good at the dipstick. The ground at the firewall looks fine. There is no spark at the plugs or coil. The fuel rail has pressure. The distributor looks like it has oil inside which I assume is a bad cam sensor. Would this cause the no start or should I look elsewhere?

A cam sensor can fail in a certain way to inhibit spark. You would be well served to test it though before replacing it.

Ignition switch is still in play here as well.

What would be some symptoms of a faulty ignition switch?

If ignition switch is bad, that "can" inhibit power from getting to your ignition control module and coil. Which means no spark, no start.

A switch is cheap enough. I will replace and see what happens. Thanks

Why don't you just test the switch instead of replace it? That way you save time and money.

Some earlyl 89 4.0's have the infamous C101 connector. That over time can develop issues which can inhibit spark.

Not all of them have this connector as it was deleted.

Here is a link. If yours has this, I'd consider a thorough cleaning. Good luck.

No mine doesn't have that connector. I heard that beating your own head on the hood helps....

I have sprayed starter fluid in th throttle body, nothing. I know I will be told that this is a stupid question, but what is the easiest way to check for injector pulse? Auto shut down relay?
