Default 89 cherokee cant match paint?

I have a 89 pioneer cant seem to match paint dealer gave me pe8 as color but tryed 2 spray cans and both did not look right at all they looked too reddish.

My jeep looks more like a dark purple. Any ideas.
The rattle cans are too light and bright looking. I used grey primer.

I used a dupli can called pr8 on the hood before seemed close

Looked for PE8 for an '89 but couldn't find it.

Check to see if you have a decal on the rear end of the driver's door. If you have one, the paint code is on it.

Post it here if you can find it.

If you're using rattle cans, you'll never be able to faithfully match that color after 27 years. The best a professional could hope for is to blend in the booth and try to make it look decent. Might be time for a total repaint if you're that worried about how it looks.

I also have an 89 pioneer. It is deep blue/purple. I like the color. I haven't seen many that color.

When I first seen it I thought it was blue then black. It's changes in light.

I've also had people call it green.

ya i had advanced make up the color in a spray can and it just seems off im not that worried but i mean i am patching rust and all so i wanted to try and cover a couple of the bondo patches and cover my faded cracked paint roof.

I realize its old but at the same time i dont want it to look like its ready for the scrap yard
