Looks like you leave a smoke trail that might be visible from orbit. Do be aware, I got stopped for that once years ago in an old Celica. If I were in your shoes I wouldn't worry much about the shifting.

That's what's weird, most of the time it doesn't even smoke. Sometimes it gray smokes and sometimes it black smokes. But hardly ever. It's just anoying putting in a qy of oil every week. Also, it running at high rpms on the highway in Texas heat(100+F) makes my jeep run a little hot, like 230. But everything cooling is brand new I put on a couple months ago

MMMM, well a quart in 50 miles and very little smoke, must be leaking then. Maybe my mistake if that on your finger is just water full of carbon.
If you are getten black smoke I'd check this first:
There is a brittle little tube. It comes out of a rubber plug, low on the engine side of the throttle body. It runs back to the firewall, then up to your MAP sensor sort of high up there near center on the firewall. CRUCIAL!! The MAP will tell the ECU to dump fuel with less/no vacuum. Any crack or blockage and it will be pig-rich. (black smoke, fouled black plugs). You can pull the line off the MAP and feel for vacuum with your finger. If it runs!

I'll check the MAP tube. The only reason I wouldn't think its that is I replaced ALL vacuum lines a couple months ago and that was one, also it runs smoothe, just with little power(probably not related)
Also on my compression test cylinder two was a little funny. The spark plug was oily and the wet dry difference was like 40 or something. Also if I open my oil fill cap it smokes a little out of there. And I assure you the oil is not leaking out of the engine anywhere. I have spent days fixing all oil leaks when I first bought the jeep and am under it at least once a day.
I think the engine is just tired.
A remanned 4litre will be put in when I get my tax return next year

Map tube is fine, but there's another issue.
When I rev up and give er some gas it smokes in my engine bay, coming up from the heat shield area. It's gray and smells like crap

Is there anywhere on the engine where it could leak oil and get all over the bottom of the intake manifold but not drip down to the oil drain plug? I was under my heep looking for whatever is burning and found oil on the underside of the intake. I ran without a oil fill cap(stupid, I know) for a week or two so that may be where it came from. I degreased and cleaned it all up to see if it comes back or not(I found my cap). It is not the valve cover gasket, I checked that and it was replaced 5 months ago.
Another issue came up, every 5 out of 10 or 15 startups the heeps idle is 2800 rpms. It sticks there and doesn't go down no matter how long I wait. That sounds like a tps issue to me but I just bought a 65$ tps from Napa last month. Adjusted it to spec on the engine side. Im going to adjust to tranny side tonight just to check on things.
I'll report back with my findings

Let's say the rings/piston has a big problem on #2, hence a bunch of "blow by" That might mean oil blowing out the front vent on the valve cover to the air cleaner. You might check that for a source of oil in your manifold. I mean pull it apart and check the air-box for oil. In Cruisers, (or my) signature is Cruisers Valve cover Mod, he got from a tec at Jeep. Basically it helps to keep oil from going with the excess blow-by out the vent to the intake....where it might even drip from below if it was hella bad!

Never do this. Routing that back to the air cleaner is really tough. The stainless steel mount, or the copper tubing could fail at any moment!
NOTE: I'm over 275K ....fill in the blank..it's "preventative"

However, the tube that runs from the rear of the valve cover to the intake manifold ALWAYS has oil in it. I first noticed it when I took off and cleaned my throttle body that there was lots of oil in my intake manifold.. could that be where my oil is all going? Cause it loses a qt every 75-100miles

Tps checked out fine.
I think I'm going to put a bottle onto that hose off the back of the valve cover to see exactly how much oil its sucking out...

If you have a bunch of blow-by, that little, I forget 2.4, or 2.6 mm orifice in the rear ccv vent is not sucking much of it. (I forget ,but academic)
I actually haven't done it, but I bet if I remove my oil cap then power brake my Jeep, I'd see a plume like a steam engine out the oil filler. Or at least a significant flow of ...something.
That 40# wet rise in #2 sounds like an issue....that said if the rear ccv doesn't have the 2.4? mm orifice that would mess things up, savy? Big vacuum leak sucking ...potentially oil, into the intake.
I'm really doing my darnedest here but I gotta say wait. Your data is wrong, does not compute. One quart in 50-100 miles, no leak, no smoke?
U runnen whale oil? A quart in 300 miles will smoke.
The net is like tying your shoes with chopsticks! Do be sure you have the proper fitting in the rear of the valve cover with the really small hole. It would idle high if that was not right.
