Ok I just got another 88 cherokee 4.0 5speed with the ba 10-5 today with 95,611 miles and the clutch was done last november when it had 86k on her now the clutch is very loose brand new clutch master im wondering if the slave cylender went on the jeep and the guy said that the clutch started to slip a week ago and now wont go into gear with the engine on so should I replace the clutch and the slave cylender

I juess in my expierence slipping, or not going into gear are two different issues. Slipping, she won't engage..worn disk, bad pressure plate, (or adjustment when there is one), or it won't disengage, the pedal feels wrong, something wrong with the hydraulics. You might bleed it, change the slave if you need to and see how it shifts/slips. If you can't get it so it will shift, you might have tyranny issues? In that case, putting it all back with a new clutch might not do it. Follow me? A bad disk/PP, shouldn't keep you from being able to shift. Worn syncros can though, I guess.

Anyway here's a nifty link...> http://borntourist.com/gallery2/v/mo...tch/?g2_page=1

Yea! My 84 did that. When the master goes it can **** right out through the fuses. No @@@@!. Since yours is new I hope not.

The slave in my 84 is exterior, er, in a manner of speaking. (sort of interior now!)

Just a "heads up" If your manual has brass syncros, you are suppose to use the right oil that doesn't pit the brass. No idea which is what, just something I picked up. Good luck!
