This morning went to turn on my xj and when i turn it on went back in my house and came back out and saw that it was leaking gasoline from the tank area. Had no tine to check it out because i was late to work. But when i got to work it was not leaking any more. Some help please on what could be the problem.

 

its the fuel pump gasket cheap and easy fix takes a couple minutes i had the same prob on my 90 xj.

 

Here's a thought. Climb under there with a flashlight and see where the gas leaked. Should be obvious.

 

exactly. You may also want to recognice that the gas leaked until it couldn't leak anymore meaning that the leak is not on the bottom of the tank. That is why it stopped leaking.

When you put a post like this, its like saying "Hey, my jeep is medded up, what can i do?" This provides no info, and is just kind of a waste of time. You are new, clearly, but if you want help diagnosing a problem, give us some kind of direction.

Let us know where the leak is coming from, pics say a thousand words, and we can go from there. Also, Year and model arehelpful as well...

Thx just replace the gas pump gasket. And solve the problem. Yeah this was my first post, recently join. next time i will provide more info ect.ect. Thx a lot for the help! You guy have a good one.
