87 4.0l electrical issue
My jeep has started something I can not figure out. While driving my dash lights will dim, radio starts crackling. And sometimes the radio even cuts off and wipers won't work. I've checked grounds and all seems fine. Hard to test cause it only happens while driving. Happens day or night pretty speratic. Anyone have an idea?

How are you "checking" grounds?
And which ones?
Could very possibly the brown wire at the ignition switch is burning up.
Turn signals and blower motor work when this happens?
I'm gonna give you a few things to do.
Tips 1, 3 and 18.

Sorry it has take so long to get back. School has had me pretty busy.
Cruiser54 I will work on that today and see what happens
Freedgr. Yes. The dealer changed my ignition switch because you could turn the the jeep on without a key
67 GMC it happens with or without lights on. During the day the radio will turn off by itself and turn back on.

Cruiser54,
I cannot find my fuel pump ballast resistor. I think I have some kind of relay where the ballast should be?

Thanks Cruiser,
I checked 1, 3, and 18, which 3 I couldnt do. I'll see how it does.
By the way, I removed that plug like you suggested, and it did run a lot better. Now just dealing with this stalling intermittently.

That string of characters makes no sense. Well, it makes sense in English, but I'm pretty sure what you said is not what you meant, because that would not make sense.
What you said is that you could not do those 3 things.
Did you mean to say you could not do #3?

That was good work replacing the C101 connector (very tedious I'm sure). I would also suggest tip#5 since that helps you find other grounding issues that the sensors see. It's probably a lot better already with the C101 and Dipstick grounds fixed. I put a ground cable to the fire wall from the dipstick stud (I think that's in Cruiser's tips too). In a way, working on the Renix system is not that bad. It doesn't throw codes but you can do a lot with a multi-meter and this forum!
Keep at it.

I figured out the issue. I think it was 3 different things.
First, I found where the radio was grounding out, fixed it. Radio not cutting off or dash lights dimming anymore.
Second, I replaced wiper motor and they work fine now.
Third, I saw a wetness around the return fuel line connector under the air filter. I removed it and since they is no replacement part, I ran hose fuel line with clamps. The stalling stopped. I'm guessing air was getting in fuel line.
I thought all three were related since they happened at the same time, but those issues are fixed now,. On to the next one.
