Default 8.8 swap?

I have a 99 cherokee sport with a dana 35 with abs and want to know if i can swap a 8.8 and still have abs. If so how can this be done? If not any ideas would be great.

yep first thing you will have to do is convert from ABS to a standard power booster..After that it
s just a matter of getting the 8.8 pulling all the mounts off the tubes, replacing hard lines to brakes , cleaning it up and maybe painting it. Then replace the brakes and maybe regear and lock. You will either have to weld up the leaf spring pads and shock mounts yourself or pay someone to do it.

8.8 Abs is operated on the pinion while Jeep is operated on the brakes them selves. Not to mention they use a diffrent signal. A lot more work than it's worth. Personally just remove the ABS. Do you already have the 8.8?

I've got a rebuilt 8.25 29 spline. It's a direct bolt in for your jeep, only thing it wouldn't have vs the 8.8 would be disc brakes. You can get those cheap off a ZJ from a junk yard though for a swap. Let me know if your interested. 99NCXJ runs his on 36's with no problems. You'll have more ground clearance with it to.

Your account won't let me send you a pm so I'm posting this here:

Ya the 8.25 is ready to go. With the 8.8 you'll need to do an SYE and all new drive shaft. 8.25 will be ready to roll and is spooled as well. I can do 175, just let me know when you'd like to get it. You can just give me a call Will - 336-260-7666
