plus if you get in a situation where one tire is off the ground it acts like an open differential. to the OP have looked on http://car-part.com/ ?

Here is what I am thinking. I can't just throw money @ this thing right now.. my original plaan was to get a new axle and put a locker in it right away. But now I'm thinking of running the lsd for now and spend the money I would have. Spent on it to put a locker in the front. Then down the road putting a locker in the rear.. all I need is a new carrier right? And they r only 100 bucks.... so an aussie in the front and lsd in the rear.. I would think it would do pretty well for now....

Plus the 8.8 I am getting has only 87,000 miles so it should be in good condition

when you replace the carrier you need to have the gears setup again. so consider that into the price. thats why I said hold out on a non LSD axle. non lsd axle all you would have to do is remove the spider gears and install aussie

Yeah that's a good point.. It kinda seems like a wash because they don't have any 4:10 ratio axles near me that are not LS. So I would have to buy a different ratio and regear IT anyway.. lol I feel like there is a mind grenade going off in my head.. My wife is constantly teasing me when I am on the phone looking for parts... And who knows with a locker in the front it may be a while before I need to put a rear locker in... (wishful thinking) ha ha
