8.25 dimension question

Default 8.25 dimension question

Anyone know what the center of axle to bottom of differential dimension is on an 8.25 diff?

On the bottom of the 8.25 is lip that can be ground off at least a 1/4" and it affects nothing........except that much more to drag on.


If that is the only reason for a swap its not worth it, not that difference and its cheaper to just add disc brakes to the 8.25 also. I guess IMO the labor of the custom install and having to carry 2 driveshaft's instead of one. Your plans may include things I don't see though so you may have a good reason.
