Pulled my drums yesterday to check the brakes because they have decreased efficiency greatly within the past two weeks to find that they are FILLED with gear oil. On my next two days (Just incase) off of work, I will be replacing the rear axle seal and bearing while I'm at it. Looking online at Advanceautoparts.com, they have multiple different bearings available. Can somebody tell me which bearings fit my Jeep so I can order them? I order parts from Advance Auto Parts because when I order online, I can input the discount code "P20" and get an instant 40% off my order, then pick the parts up in the store and get 10% back if my buddy is working.

Anybody? I really don't want to pull the axle to check the bearing size, then put it back together to go pick the parts up. I'd rather only do this once

That's something I didn't think about. After renting $150 in tools, buying bearings and seals, a tube of form a gasket, and a bottle of royal purple gear oil, I cant really afford to buy all like 11 bearings they sell for the Cherokee at around $10 a piece......Ouch

Try calling the dealership. They should be able to tell you which bearing size.

The only part number I found was a National part number and it was #6408 that was from Orielly's website not sure what advance is lising but it looked like they were lising all the bearings including the ones for the transfer case. Hope that helps......but I cant tell you for sure if thats the right number or not....have u called them and had them just look it up.

It should be fairly straight forward, you have a 1994 Cherokee. If it has the original 8.25 it is a 27 spline axle. The wheel bearing size for a 1994 Cherokee with a 27 spline 8.25 should all be the same, there could be different manufactures with different numbers but all that fit that year and vehicle should fit.

I try to avoid asking them to look parts up for me, they have been wrong many times and put up a fit when I tried to return parts that didn't fit. I know from personal experience, places like Autozone do not require any form of automotive training to hire you.. that scares me.

They have cone shaped bearings and non cone shaped bearings listed, which is what I'm tossed on. I'm pretty sure I need the non cone shaped bearings, but I haven't torn it apart, so I don't know. This is a replacement axle from a parts Jeep that is stock with over 300,000 miles on it now... I'm 100% amazed and shocked that it has lasted this long, especially with what I've put it through and continue to put it through.
