6.5" lift stock driveshaft?
anyone know, is it possible to do a 6.5" lift with a 1" tcase drop and still use stock rear driveshaft without vibrartions? could the rear axle be shimmed up?

if you can afford a 6.5" lift you should afford an sye.
i had issues with my 91 and the driveshaft yokes grinding together at 4" of lift. and 99's are even more prone to vibrations.
using a factory style driveshaft you need to have the t-case and the pinion parrallel. you can shim it up to get a better driveshaft angle, but then it isnt at the same angle as the t-case output and the vibrations won't cancel themselves out so to speak.

yep ok i was just wonderin, i have about 1600$ worth in my lift, tires and rims under my jeep now. and me and my buddy worked out a deal where hes giving me 1000$ for my lift and tires but not the rims, it cost 900$ on Roughcountry for the 6.5" lift so im going to buy that, and a set of used 33's. and we'll put my 5" lift and 31" tires on his jeep. so i will for sure need an sye and driveshaft huh

they arent that expensive and they are pretty easy to install. and you can get a front DS out of another cherokee and get it shortened or lengthened if it doesnt fit. thats only like 100 bucks

Now I just need to get the SYE and rear leafs and i will be able to have a solid 4in lift using all jy parts
I plan on making long arm lower control ares and doing a y-link setup - i say a lot of write ups about it and it doesn't seem like it would be that tough

yeah and even if its not long enough there are shops that will lengthen and shorten them for under 100 bucks. so if you get a free or $20 driveshaft off of someone or at the junkyard you are still way under the 300 bucks they charge for the tom woods ones
