5 speed ECU replacement
i recently bought a 2001 Cherokee Limited with a 5 speed manual transmission. Turns out the seller declined to tell me the jeep was originally an automatic. Being as this was the first vehicle I went and purchased on my own I failed to recognize this.
Im having trouble finding a replacement ECU for this which I need to pass emissions in my state. I was wondering if anyone had the part number for the correct ECU or has a link for one that I could buy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a tough one because of the swap from auto to manual.
What I would do is to call your local Jeep dealership and give them your VIN number and the part number from the current ECU. Explain to them that the transmission was swapped from automatic to manual. If they made a manual in 01 with the same features as yours they can tell you the part number to replace it with.
It is possible that there is not an exactly proper ECU for the vehicle as it is. In this case what I would do is have the dealer tell you the ECU part number for the next closest variation and what is different. Be patient as they may have trouble finding the information. If you don't succeed at the first dealer you call, try another.
