1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l with replacement ecu.
I have replaced the ecu but the engine still will not start. Does the ecu have to be programmed to the Jeep in order for it to work or did I end up getting another dud. I figured the only reason to get the ecu flashed was so that the vin matches. This ECU supposedly came out of another Jeep with all of the same drive train and engine so that part should match.
