Half hour of time and just forget about it. There is NO downside to eliminating it now.

No reason to. The factory eliminated that crap in 1991, and it was never on the vehicles with the NP242 transfer case. It's a huge bunch of over-engineering that is prone to stranding folks when they need it the most.

There are indeed two schools of thought regarding the disco. Some of us prefer leaving it as designed, others don't mind the extra wear and friction with it locked. Ether way is fine.

And the Crowd Cheers!
Well done!
I bought a new rear main seal and pan gasket, then returned them. Be sure oil is not blowing back from the oil filter adapter and dripping off the bell-housing there, mimicking a leaking rear main seal. The O rings in the adapter harden and leak. Also it's crucial that the large tube off the valve cover is free to vent. If it's a kinked hose or an aftermarket filter, crankcase pressure from blow-by can make it **** oil all over, especially out the RM seal.

It is definitely rear main seal I can see where its leaking and the ccv are all good and not kinked or blocked. Thanks for the info though....and really didn't think it made that big of a deal but after researching I realize there's a reason why its called CRANKCASE ventilation. Lol thanks for the info
