I tried searching, but couldnt find anything other than cleaning the IAC, Which, I cant find for the life of me.
I have a 2.5L renix 87 xj, with the aw4 4wd. Whenever i get it warmed up and at an idle in park or neutral it idlles very high, somewhere in the neighborhood of 2k rpm, but as soon as i put it in D or R the rpms drop down to normal levels.
I have the haynes repair manual, and have checked as many vacuum lines that I can find for cracks/leaks, but to no avail
. Any ideas?

Thee are 3 or 4 vacuum hoses near the throttle body that tend to leak and suck air. Visually inspect them and even better spray around them with throttle body cleaner with the engine running. If there's a vacuum leak, you'll know it as idle will change.
Secondly, I would be suspicious of your Throttle Position Sensor going south on you.

Well I spent the afternoon checking all the vacuum hoses and connections with throttlebody cleaner trying to get the idle to change, and I noticed that the sensor next to the throttle cable and kickdown seems to get stuck before it bottoms out. If I press it in a little bit more than its naturally going to, my idle drops right around where it should be. now a lil help with ID'ing this thing so i can get a new one?

It's like a stepper motor. When returning to idle, it doesn't allow the throttle to slam shut. It slows it down. And it is used for idle speed and idle kick up when power steering pressure increases.
