im going to put a 4 1/2" lift on my xj, i was wondering how much trimming i would have to do to fit 33x12.5 inch tires without getting rid of the flares.

 

In order to fit the 33's with that much lift, your looking at cutting the fenders. You can always locate the flares after the cutting, just be careful when cutting the rear because of the pinch seam.

 

You can cut to where the top of the flare was up front and cut and fold the rear. That should give you more than enough room and it'll look really good.

You could put the lift on, pull the flares and flex it out to see how much your gonna need to cut off. Makes it easy so u don't cut way too much.

im runnin 33s wit a 4.5" lift and i did very little trimming on the inside of the fenders

 

i looked at your build thread and wear did you trim the fenders? and how wide are your tires?

 

im runnin 4.5 with 33's not a whole lot of trimming

 

im running 33"s on 4.5 lift too. didnt trim too much but im not running flares
