318 motor swap (PLEASE HELP)
I need to know if i can put a 318 from a 1983 New Yorker into a 1985 Cherokee? And how hard is it? I want to retain my 4x4 so i was thinking of getting a tranny from a Ram Charger... Will any of this work? Any advise is appreciated. Thanx

just get the whole package from the ram charger.
318, TF 727, NP208 wouldnt be a bad drivetrain, with some new drive shafts. As far as electrical... try painless wiring for a solution.

your looking at a lot of work and a tight fit i know a few people have put the small block chevys in the cherokees but i havent seen to many others might want to look into a stroker kit probably cheaper and definitely easier with pretty good power gains
