Default 31 inch tires rub on control arm

What should I do to prevent my tires from rubbing against my control arms when I turn? They start rubbing at an almost full turn. Stock OEM control arms.

How much lift do you have? you can adjust the steering lock bumpstop things to keep it from being able to turn far enough to rub...or just don't turn all the way to full lock(thats what I do)

Yeah, they're gonna rub unless you adjust the steering bumpstops(I forget the technical name for them) or get backspaced wheels.

It takes alot more than 20 minutes to change them from my experience, not to mention if you undo the stock bolts you'd be smart to replace them with brand new grade 8 hardware.

I had the same rub with the same tire and lift and I followed this:

Took a couple of minutes and the rubbing is gone.

The more expensive, but worth while route is to by new wheels like crager soft 8's. Get proper backspacing (4.5) and you will retain the tight turning radius that the cherokee has! Also these wheels balence out great! Way better than my stock steelies! What I thought was minor driveline vibes turned out to be the stock steels.. Cragers should be about $40 + shipping. IMHO way worth the upgrade if you plan on keeping you jeep around for a while!

You could try wheel spacers.
These 1" should do it. 120 for all four with free shipping. It's an idea, I've had to do it before to clear tires while turing. BTW, I've swapped out control arm bushing many times on older cherokees, and it's super easy if you do it right, thats the great thing about cherokees nothing on them is rocket science to fix.

Don't turn the steering wheel all the way to the end.

What about wheels with 3 5/16 backspacing? I am getting ready to buy some MT sidebiters with that backspacing and am gonna go with 31 X 10.5 as well. Will I have any issues with rubbing? It doesn't sound like it
