Wanted to replace the rocker cover gasket today. I have all I need to do it except my torque wrench is in foot pounds not inch pounds. No money today to borrow a wrench from the store. I see that the 80 inch lbs is about 3 ft lbs. The first mark on my wrench is 5 ft lbs. Is that close enough or is that too tight? Is my old-school torque wrench even accurate at the low end? Thanks. I sure would like to do it today.

Hold your ratchet with the head in the palm of your hand, not by the handle, and just snug the bolts down.

This is how I have always done mine. I never used a torque wrench for them.

I did mine to 7ft-lbs cause that's what the manual called for. No biggie without the wrench, just snug. Don't crush the gasket.

Many thanks. All I needed to hear was "snug it" & remembered my Dad saying that about 30 years ago when he was doing the same thing to some old car. Halfway done already, but anytime I touch anything rubber or plastic that's old on this jeep and it just crumbles.

The wire harness for the plug wires lost a bolt hole in the back. Will it be ok with only one for now or will the wires wiggle loose now?

Anyone know where I'd get one of those... what it's called?

Also, I just got a new pc valve but there's another one in the back that broke along with the house ends. Can anyone tell me what it's called please? Not finding it in the books.
