Default 3.73 ratio

is this even possible? i have D35R/D30F and the tags said 3.73 gearing way back when. i have the power transmission option on my dash too. is that the towing package?

The power option to my understanding just "firms" up the shift points. About the 3.73 gearing I think thats pretty standard. Mines an 88 and thats my setup also... My xj is as stock as the day it was new...

if i'm not mistaken, 3.73 was a tow package when they sold your jeep

Standard equipment that switch. Later on they eliminated it and the TCU was permanently in the Power mode.

all the research i've done says the 3:55 ratio would be the most common in the Dana 35 but who knows...

The Dana 35 had different ratios depending on other equipment like tow package, auto or manual trans.

Manuel D35 3:05

Towing Package D35 3:73

that sound right?? just trying to compile a quick refence for the search engine on most common factoy gears ratios

If we're talking about 87 and later with 4.0, it's 3.55 auto, 3.07 manual.
4 cylinders 87 and later had different ratios available as did the 84 to 86 models.

Tow package or UpCountry package got a 3.73 gear ratio.
