Default 29 spline in 27 spline housing.

I know I would need the 29 spline spiders (no biggie, getting a lunchbox locker) and obviously the shafts, but is there anything else different between the two? are the bearings and seals bigger or is the shaft diameter in that area the same?

I believe there is technically a difference in the diameter, however they ride in the same bearings and seals. Housing is the same.

If I am not sure a part will interchange I go to the JY & test fit the parts on the autos sitting in the yard.

I just had lockers and gears installed, and I went from 27 spline shafts to 29 spline shafts. Same axle housing, only different carrier.

Different carrier, and I had tried to put 27 slpine spiders in my 29 for ****s and giggles they are a good bit smaller.

Using 29 spline spiders on the axle and 27 spline on the cross pin makes a spool

To change a 27 spline C/8.25 to a 29 spline, you'll need 29 spline shafts, and either a 29 spline carrier with either spider gears, or a lunch box locker, or a full case locker.

You can add shafts and side gears and spiders but you'll need to reset the gears. Google it on NAXJA

looks like to use my carrier I would have to get the hole for the cross pin bored out.

NOT WORTH IT! I'll just keep my eyes peels for a 4.10 8.8
