Default 265/70/17 on stock??

What do you all think. I need tires on this truck soon and I got the 265/70r17 on the rims waiting to go on but havent put the 3" lift on yet. Gonna work or not? It works out to 31.6 x 10.4 x 7.3 ?? I havent picked the spare truck up so I can just try it

on a stock suspension you WILL rub with a 3" you might rub. those are equivalent to what most 32's are

When I had 31" x10.5`s on my stock 1994 the rear tires hit whenever I hit a sudden dip..Worse with weight in the back..It finally ate thru the plastic of the flares and the exposed metal edge started to dig a gouge into the tire tread...The fronts would rub on really sharp turns

So with a 3 inch and removing those flares it should be ok
is what I'm believing? I'm thinking just go 4.5 to be safe
this won't be off road much but when it does I want it to
be able to do something without rubbing

The spare with the big wheels is kinda rotted and has a bad
head that the PO sent out the get done and than bailed on the truck.
So no it don't run the green one runs like a champ and is in
great condtion. It has a couple thousand miles on a rebuilt motor.
I still don't know why they sold it for so cheap it's a great truck

I'm planning to put this size tire on my non-lifted '01. I will have Bushwacker cutout flares installed before the the wheels go on. Will I have any rubbing issues before the lift goes on?

Well I partially fitted the flares on and one of the new wheels. I opted for 265/65/17 with are an inch smaller in diameter. Even so, it seems it would rub. I didn't know that the Bushwackers wouldn't increase vertical wheel space. So I guess I will have to lift. With the tires out as far as mine, even with a 3" lift, I believe the tires will rub under good articulation. I don't plan on any offroading beyond a few hills and ruts at the beach, so I think I may need some bump stops along with the lift. Does this sound about right?
