Default 2001 XJ Automatic Oil Pan, Need Removal Advice

I need to remove the oil pan, but the transmission lines and the exhaust are in the way. Need advice and what I am going to face removing the pan. Also, will have issues clearing the pan from the axle.

What model transmission? Is it the AW4?

I had no issues with the lines, however, i did have to dent the exhaust pipe at the front of the pan to allow the pan to swing down and clear the pipe.

jack it up a bit. I've got 4.5" on mine and took take the pan off completely without jacking it up. there are clamps on the side of the block that hold down tranny lines, undo those. may need to loosen the one in the front as well. dirty job, so drain your oil a day early if you can. exhaust wasn't a problem. Neither was the starter.

How did you dent the pipe? Must have been a close fit there.

You were able to get enough movement in the lines by removing the bracket clamps or did you also disconect the tranny lines? I wondered about taking the clamps off but I was concerned I would damage the lines.
