2001 Jeep Cherokee Stalls Randomly and Won’t Restart
I have a 2001 Cherokee and I bought it with the stalling issue. Guy said it needed a crankshaft sensor. I went a bought top shelf echlin brand Napa sensor and installed it. Still stalls. The pcm and coil pack had been replaced by the previous owner. The Jeep will run great but will suddenly as if someone turned the key off it stalls. Gauges still stay on and so does the radio. Will just crank and crank. I also replaced the cam sensor with no luck. I noticed the fuel pump sounds very faint so I went and banged on the underhood relay box and tried to start it and I could here the fuel kick on now and it started. Anyone ever had this issue or could help me out with tracking this issue down.

1. based on your story and that banging on the relay box allowed the engine to start, start with swapping that fuel pump relay. All of the relays in the PDC (black box under hood) are of the same part number so they can be swapped. Swap it with a non-critical relay.
2. Use a code reader or scan tool to see if you have any codes or "pending" codes.

Best to mention everything you've already done in your initial thread.
Keep a fuel pressure gauge with you and test for fuel pressure immediately upon failure. You need 49 psi, plus or minus 5 psi to start the engine.
