Hi the alternator of my 2001 cherokee sport died last week and I went to buy a replacement at my local parts shop but they did not have them in stock and I was wondering if I can use an alternator from a different vehicle jeep or different car to replace mine with out too mouch modifications it would be better if it is a bolt on install.
If some minor mods are needed to be done please help with installation and modding instructions. (if you have pictures it will be the best)

Thanks a lot guys

I think you can get them from the grand cherokees and use those. Minor modifications. Good time to upgrade the alternator.

I always use the auto parts store to x-reference to see what parts will work with different years, yours just says 2001 and thats it,does not list any othere veichles, kinda strange but they are more often than not correct.
