I've had the quiet-flow and it's not as quiet as stock. Not even close IMO. I've bought a couple of them. If you want oem quietness, you might want to get one from a good muffler shop. But they're quieter than any turbo or minimal baffled mufflers. Furthermore, if you buy the stainless steel Walker muffler, they don't last forever. Mine's practically rusted now. It's been on for, oh, 8 years. That's fairly long, but for what it costs, not convinced it was worth it. I'm going to try to get a warranty when it finally does rust through. See how that goes.

The insulator yeah. If you can get away without buying the hanger don't. That thing is not bolted to the uni-body. It is bolted to a nut strip inside the uni-body.

So here is the fun part. If and when you snap one of those bolts to try and get it off you might have to replace the nut strip. And here is the even more fun part. You get to take off your bumper to do so.
So if the hanger is still OK just buy a new muffler clamp to hang the tail pipe and call it a day.

I put a complete Walker system on my 87 front to back (minus the header). It's been quite a few years and held up fine through 9-10 yrs of WI salty winters ...other than the aforementioned SS muffler which is still good but on it's last legs. Now that I think of it, I DID repalce the tailpipe when I had the gas tank off last summer, b/c the rear hanger rusted off and a new pipe was cheaper than me screwing around with welding it back on. I had the pipe off anyway for access to the hitch and re-tap a shock absorber bolt hole that my brother screwed up for me!!
As a rule, I always tack weld exhaust joints (no clamps) in 3 places per joint strategically to easily grind away if the need arises (mods/fixes/etc). The joints soon 'weld themselves' together tight, but it's easy to cut the tack welds, heat the pipe to separate for downstream repairs.
On an old 95 ZJ, I probably put on 5 mufflers and used the same aluminized tailpipe for 15 years. Just cut the tack welds and re-weld. But If you don't have access to a welder, I guess, use clamps but don't squeeze too tight.
