2000 xj shifting wired an spits an sputters
I have a 2000 xj 4.0 4wd, i recently done a motor swap , I dropped a 99 4.0, but it ran good and shifted great an everything till I took it riding one night an then when I pulled back on into the main road to leave, I stopped an it was like was havin trouble shifting out of 1st. But finially I got it to shift out of 1st An shifts great but it’s shifting at a high RPM an has no power, don’t kick down like it did. An when you put it to the floor, it don’t gear down an has no power, I’ve done all the simple **** but now I’m absolutely lost, changed the plugs, trans fluid+filter, adjusted the camshaft sensor, checked the TV cable, everything is good. I need to get it fixed ASAP!!! TIA!

Did you clean the grounds beforehand? What all was swapped over? Did you swap the TPS over from the old one? The TPS has a direct affect on shifting characteristics. Where did the engine come from? Did you check the compression and fuel pressure? New or used, its a good idea to check that stuff to rule things out.

The only thing that was swapped was the block,head, an valve cover. I kept all the 2000 electrics an everything. Everything was fine when I swapped an everything was fine till I took it off road an then it has a problem shiftin now.
