My 96 classic 4.0 Has running issues. Acts like lack of fuel. Replace Fuel pump.
No change. Replace coolant sensor. No change. Replace cap rotor and wires. No change. I have had the problem before. Turned out to be fuel pump. Twice. So I change out the temp sensor. What else would cause what feels like fuel deprivation? It runs fine some times. till I am in a hurry, starts jerking and power fading. Doesn't appear to have air temp sensor or does it. Could O2 sensor cause this scenario?

 

Replaced fuel pump , screen, fuel filter, plug wires and cap.

 

Have you checked it for any codes? If not that is where you need to start before throwing parts at it.

 

Could be TPS, O2, MAP, Ignition coil etc...etc...

Check for codes. Check fuel pressure. Then start checking sensors.
