ok i have a 2000 xj sport. well the horns i have on em i dont like em cuz they sound sissy. but i went and got some diff ones that sound boss
but the thing is on the stock ones there is only one wire going to each unit. there are two. well the one i bought has 2 prongs. would both wires have their own neg and pos? or would one be neg and the other pos? and each wire is on opposite sides of the vehicle. if this makes any sense please help. thank you in advance

it did but in talkin about the wires where the original horns came off. each horn only had one prong. one wire attached. no depiction between them. and they are on opposite side of the jeep. both wires are black. and its only one per side per horn.
For 12V, they ground through the mounting tab.

let me try to clarify.there were two horns to start with. one on each side of the jeep. and each horn had one prong with one wire going to it. the wires that are connected to the horns are alike. they are both black. and i am going to a single horn that has a neg and pos prong.

Sounds like if you just have one horn now, you just need to use one of the wires going to the current 2-horn set-up, then run a ground from your neg terminal on the new horn, to a ground location. Cut and secure the other pos wire that was on the 2nd factory horn. You won't need it.

well i got mine on about a month ago. i used on of the pos wires and ran a wire to the pos terminal of the new horn. and the ground is where the original horn bolts up. i left the original horn and ran a wire from the mounting tab to the neg terminal of the new horn and bolted it to the underside of my front bumper. and the other horn i disconnected the pos wire and taped it to the original horn and left it. both original horns are still bolted on but not hooked up.
