For a kid im tring to help out that doesnt have a lot of cash to throw at it and its his only vehicle

factory alarm messed up and it would not start. sat for 6 months. I removed alarm and now it will fire and run for 3-6 seconds than die.

help?

 

If it sat for 6 months without any use you might want to replace all the fluids and drain the gas tank and put some fresh stuff in there.

 

Yeah i would change the oil and probably put fresh gas in. MAYBE even check the gas filter as well.

 

oils changed, gas and fuel filter are new. its electrical or mechanical. simple stuff is what i told him to do first thing and he did

 

spray carb cleaner in the throttle body when it starts and see if you can keep it running if it does then its fuel related if not its ignition. my guess anyways
