Default 2000 compatible with 98? what years?

i have a 2000 xj and have been looking at a few other xjs around my neighborhood. one is parked and hasnt moved in months and the other is currently for sale for 1000 bucks.

what i am wondering is how compatile is the 98 to my 2000? i have room to keep it around for parts and im not sure what all i can use off from it. tranny, front end, front and rear differentials, roof rack even.

also, what years WOULD be compatible with my xj? what years are compatible with what years for future builds?

Big differences:
00 uses a coil pack..not a distributer.
00 has a low pinion 30..98 has a high pinion.

00 has the 0331 head casting that is more common for cracking. 98 does not.

Possibly..
You could probably part the stuff you can't use out to others.
