2000-01 Cherokee 4.0 Temp sensor?? Right rear HEAD
Hello all,
I have a 99 Cherokee 4.0 that I just putt an 01 cherokee 4.0 motor in... It looks to me that on the top of the head near the firewall driver side, is that where the coolant sensor is??? There is a hole there and coolant is coming from it... I just want to clarify that the hole is for a sensor or something else.... It is on the top of the head not on the side, right near the last head bolt
Thanks all,
Ant...

R u sure it's a '01 head????? I's my understanding that '96 down heads had the sending unit hole driver's side rear. '97 up no hole. U'll need to install a pipe plug in the hole. '97 up heads have the temp sensor in the t-stat cover at the front of the head.

If you haven't figured it out by tomorrow, I'll take a look at mine, a 2000. I have the head off, so it's easy to see. I do know that on the 2000, the temo sensor is in the t-stat housing, on the front. It is leaking from the top of the head, and not the back? I ask because there is a freeze plug on the back of the head.....RR
