Default 2 Cherokee's, 2 Problems....Help us out...?

Hey y'all! We got a couple perblems we is looking for help on. First off, an '89 XJ 4x4 w/ 4.0L and about 250K miles....

The problem with this one is that at random times, we go somewhere and stop for a while (say, like a store) and come back out and it won't start up. No check engine light or anything. Battery is fine, brand new. No loose plugs or wires that we can find & nothing out of the ordinary. Just want's to throw a fit. What's your opinion on this? It's causing us some problems and headaches.

Second, our '93 XJ 4x4 w/ 2.5L and about 230K miles....Oh, and 3" lift.
REALLY bad vibrations up above 45MPH. Has the 3" lift, but no t-case lowering kit. Just replaced rear diff to driveshaft u-joint. No looseness in either D-Shaft anymore. Going down the road at over 45 and it feels like it's gonna it's gonna shake apart. Please help us out.

Thanks

Ok, first one. Is the engine turning over? Or not even turning.

Second one, Balance the tires. Check driveshaft angle.

Problem #1: more than likely, the NSS. Happens to mine all the time, and I sure as hell ain't paying for a new one...lol

Problem #2: tires balanced right? Driveshaft in phase? Suspension stuff all good?

vechicle no 1 if the motor is turnig over and not starting it need to be checked for spark fuel and injector pulse ,as for the chrck engine light 87 thru 90 xjs are not equiped with a cxontrol system that has a check engine light .cps is the most common problem with nostarts, nss is most commoin problem with not turning over

vechicle no 2 either could be death wobble or drive shaft angles are bad, a tc case drop will help if its angles ,death wobble is front end area needs to be checked use the search feature and it will explain in more details on both vechicles

Ok, sorry for not clarifying....vehicle 1 turns over but randomly won't start. It's not often at all, maybe every few weeks. What is the NSS or CPS? Any way to get trouble codes from it?

#2 Just vibrates real bad. No wobble at all. D-Shafts are all tight and no wobble from them up and down or side to side. Suspension SEEMS okay, but we do go 4-wheeling and maybe conked something wrong....

nss neutral saftey switch cps crank position sensor and no you cannot get codes from it at all sensors must be checked with om meter i would check the wiring to the cps for bare spots and brittle plsaces, other i would check for tire balance

thanks, well check those sensors to see if they're bad. And we need to take the '93 into have it smogged anyway and they do tire balancing there too....

If it turns over but doesn't "start", the problem is not the NSS. When the NSS is the culprit, the engine will not turn over, not click, NOTHING.

The crank sensor is always in play for a crank but no-start. Without that input signal to the computer, you will not have spark and you will not have fuel going to the injectors.

The RENIX vintage are also very susceptible for ground issues. If you have not already done so, I'd recommend "freshening" the engine grounds. Can't tell a thing by looking at them. Remove the ground, clean until shiny, reattach. The importance of good grounds cannot be overstated. And even if this doesn't resolve your issue, it will prevent a future one........
