Thanks for the info. I had the 225 in my CJ5, did a number of things to it, turboed it for a while with the turbo off an Olds 215 cu in aluminum V8 . Ended up with an intake, cam and Holly 390 4 barrel and cut big valves into the heads. I regularly smoked warmed over 304s with it. I remembered well the 231 when it came out and its inception at the hands of Smokey Yunik (sp?) Always wanted to get ahold of an aluminum block and heads for the 225 and put 231 guts in it.

After I get the axles in the XJ, I am going after more horsepower. I have just completed preliminary steps for this in the exhaust system and beefed up cooling system.

 

do you mean the diesel or the regular cause if for the reg how much and where can i get one?
