I just pulled the engine and tranny out of my parts jeep(1998).
I left the complete engine harness on the engine, and pulled the full harness off the firewall(unplugged it at the fuse box(pass side) and the harness junction box thing(drivers side).
All connections apear to be the same, and the harness plug in location have the same wires in and out.
Still haven't pulled my jeep apart yet (1999).
I don't have a FSM and was wondering if anyone else has ever done this swap, and had it work?
Hoping it's plug and play for the most part?

You are going from a 2.5 to a 4.0,you need to use all the controls from the 4.0 that control engine and trany.

Yeah. I have all the pcm and tcu pulled. Just wasn't sure if someone else ever did this swap and knew about the tranny cables and the shifter linkages. There is also a cable that goes from the shifter to the steering column, wasn't sure if i needed to swap that or not?
