1999 Jeep Cherokee transfer case issues .
So I've owned my 96 xj for a few years got pretty familiar but it is only 4x2. Just bought my first 4x4 and the problem is the transfer case . It seems to always be in 4 wheel. If I try to engage 4 lo it goes nowhere acts as if in neutral . There is no resistance going from 2hi to 4hi . And always feel the front wheels pulling . It's lifted 2 1/2 inches . Any help is appreciated where do I start guys ?

So I inspected the linkage and the peg that comes from where the shifter and the linkage meet had come out of the bushing . Popped it back in and no more issues . Appreciate the responses
