1999 Jeep Cherokee Headlight Mess

Hello All,
I am a newbie and I have a heck-of-a-problem. My '99 needed new headlights and I removed the old lamps and found the passenger side socket corroded and useless. I bought a new replacement receptacle, but I am having trouble wiring the generic plug into the Jeep's original wiring.
What I need is the color and function of the original wiring. In other words, what wire position on the bulb connects to what wire color on the Jeep?
I am really screwed here guys.
Please help if possible!
Thanks,
Tom
PS - Please don't make fun of my crude drawing below.

Clay,
The right and left are the same, but the generic receptacle has three (3) black wires. I really need to know how the individual lugs are laid out. The original socket is not exactly configured so as to show which colored wire has what function.
If I knew either, what wire controlled what or what lug on the lamp activated what I would be set.
Thanks,
Tom

Get a chiltons manual or haynes manual and it will have the wiring diagram. Unfortunately, I do not have my manual handy but...
One wire is ground
one wire is high beam
one wire is low beam
You can use a multi-meter or light probe to check which is which through normal electrical testing

Easy, Cut off your harness an inch above the light connector on the harness so you can see which color is for which part on the bulb and when you wire up the new connector you can see which color is used on each tab of the bulb.
Alternatively, you can clip the wires off and with the light on, test each option. It shouldn't take you but a minute or two to find out which wire is for what function.
I bet it will take you more time to find connectors and your wire strippers than actually doing the work. Nice excuse for a beer though.
