Nuetral Safety Switch
I think my nuetral safety switchis going bad so I did a search and came up with this.

Very informitive post.... untill I hit a snag. I cant get the switch out. I tried "the nut on a few turns, pry with screwdriver" method and I think I lost a few threads. I put a set of vice grips on the flat part of the shaft and broke out the 2' screwdriver. No luck. Before I get serious and break something, should this thing pull straight out. The body of the switch is loose and the 12mm bolt is out. If there's nothing left but to pull harder my next step will be to drill a small hole through the flat part of the shaft and drive in a split pin. If that doesnt move it I'm done.

Get two bits of flat bar stock (about 1" wide and 1/8" thick,) and insert them between the switch and the case on either side of the shaft. Kinda "rock" the switch back and forth by alternately pulling on the flat bars. Sometimes, PB Blaster can help it break free, and giving the end of the manual shift shaft a light tap or two with a mallet can help as well.
When reinstalling, coat the shaft proper with never-seez (of whatever variety,) just don't get any on the threads. Torque the collet nut to 62 pound-inches (or 5 pound-feet,) and the upper screw to 12-15 pound-feet.
