I have decided to go with an 8.8 in the rear. Can somebody tell me what gears come in the 8.8. I have seen several site that say 3.55 which would be good so i dont have to re-gear right away. But i have also seen some sights that say 3.73 or 4.10. Any help would be great.

stick shift explorers are rare...dont think they make a 4cyl explorer either.(hope your talking about the cherokee) If a junkyard can tell you what gear ratio a vehicle has you dont want to buy it from them....because they are expensive. Best way is to Mark the tire and D/S and count it off. The tag on the diff is the first thing chucked over the shoulder when doing a service on the rear.......but you may get lucky.

I crawled around a local junkyard looking at the diff tags until I found a 4.10 limited slip. It is labled on the tag that is on the pass side of the vehicle on one of the diff bolts.
There are several reason for swapping to the Ford 8.8 - it is a much stronger unit than the D35 or 8.25, is has factory disc brakes (when you get one from an explorer 96 through 01) it has the same bolt pattern as our Jeeps and is very close to the same width. I bought mine complete from caliper to caliper for a little under 300. All I had to do was change the pads, rotors, diff fluid and move the spring perches. I rotated and reused the sway bar mount as shock mounts as well.
