1999 A\C Accumulator
Replaced the leaking evaporator last week, got it all back together and went to NAPA for a receiver\drier today. Theirs has a charging port on the top between the two pipes, mine has a low pressure switch mounted in a threaded boss in that location. Otherwise, it would have fit and worked fine. Every single one I find from all sources online seems to be made like the NAPA part. Anyone run into this before? Am I correct in my belief that this is the drier? (which I want to replace since the system has been empty for some time) After all the work to replace the evaporator, I'd like the A\C to work a long time... I found a Youtube video of someone replacing theirs, and it's made just like mine, so I know I'm not nuts. (ok, at least this time...)

The '99 does not have a receiver/drier, it has an Accumulator.
Ask for an AC Accumulator for a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. Take your old accmulator to the store with you and show the counter puke what you need.
Get a small bottle of PAG 100 while you're there, and add 4 ounces of it to the new accumulator.

Ok, I used the wrong name, it's an accumulator. It does, however, receive and hold a quantity of liquid refrigerant when necessary, and I believe it has dessicant in it, which is what I'm concerned about. The replacement sold me by NAPA, and at least a dozen different web-based sources would sell, has a charging port where mine has the low-pressure switch located. I saw a Youtube video of somebody replacing their heater motor, and they had the same version my Jeep has. Yes, it's a 1999 Cherokee Sport, 4.0L, AT, 4x4...

You might want to replace the orifice tube,is inside the line and you have to buy the line. If you look at the bottom of the picture posted by djb383,you will see the line and it has crimps on it.that is where the orifice is located.
