Hey everyone. I really need help with fixing the jeep I just bought. It seems to be having a lot of electrical issues. Its a 1997 Cherokee sport. First off, it sat for 2 years before I bought it and the wires have been chewed on by animals over by the engine. The jeep was idling fine but was stalling after stopping at a stop sign (it's automatic), and the break lights work. Now, the jeep isn't really idling, keeps stalling and the tail lights are out but break lights are working. The ac and heat aren't working either. All the power window buttons on the doors (except the driver side) don't work either. Also, the radio power turns on but doesnt play.

It's either I rewire the whole jeep and spend 2K$ or someone helps me lol.

the first thing you need to do is get it running right....one step at a time, one problem at a time, so you are not overwhelmed.....are there any codes (check engine light on)? I would just start simple. Pop the hood and give it a good visual inspection. Check all wires for obvious signs of damage.....also if you don't get any more help here post in the OEM section.

 

I had the jeep running with no problem but then it decided to start stalling and stop idling. The check engine is on bc the cat. converter is bad. Like I said previously though, my the car was sitting and some animals chewed on the wires a little bit. The circuit box in the inside of the jeep did have water in it but we don't know what those wires go to right now.
