I've had this issue but it truly only happened once a month. When I go to crank over the jeep would stall unless I gave it gas. Once I rev it high and threw it into gear the problem would go away.

I took throttle body off and cleaned it 2 weeks ago. I also replaced the IAC VALVE during this process.

Now 2 weeks go by and it's super cold. I went to start jeep and it's doing it again. Once I got it warmed up I turned it off and tried to crank again. It cranked over but still almost want to stall but never did and then idles fine.

Any idea what else it can be?

 

When's the last time it had a complete tune-up?

Plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

 

This happened to me a couple months ago. All I figured out was to just keep starting it until it warms up, with the foot off the gas. I read somewhere that the CPU measures where the gas pedal is, and when the pedal is used to keep the engine running it resets where the Idle is on the pedal, so it could be CPU error. Other than that I never found a concrete answer.

 

To my knowledge the tune up was in 09 but wife had the shop do it. I'm not sure what all was done maybe plugs and wires.

 

That's 7 years ago. Likely over the 30,000 mile interval.......
